Journey with me as I ever so slowly attempt to run 50 races in 50 states by the time I am 50...

Presbyterians gone...wild?

Ooh boy, it's been a long time. That's what you get for planning a wedding, having the wedding, going on a honeymoon, and getting the flu. Oh yeah, and throw some awesome kiddos in the mix and you get the picture. My life went from single to domestic like woah. And I love it. Well, maybe not the flu, but the rest has been stellar.

Here's a wedding pic just for fun:

Yup, we're ordering hot dogs at our food truck-caterer. Our wedding was seriously pretty great.

So anyway, a few months ago (pre-wedding) three of my fav gals and I went to Atlanta to see what kind of trouble we'd get into. Seeing as two of these girls spent an evening knitting while in Vegas on an earlier girls get-away, I knew we'd be at risk for drama in a big way.

As it turned out, our biggest drama was making a late-night Checkers stop to get some milkshakes and other treats, but seriously, we had a great time.

The race itself was a pretty huge deal for one thrown by a church. They did a great job raising money for all their ministries and even gave away a car, as they were sponsored by Mini.

We all did well-- Traci and Ali blew away their previous PRs and Chrissy had an incredible post-baby run. It wasn't my best time for a 5K, but I came in 3rd in my age group!

It was also the first 50 in 50 run I've done while sporting team T-shirts. Since three of the four of us (plus one more who was going to run with us but had to back out) are married to Presbyterian pastors (and I'm one myself), we'd call ourselves Sparkle Girl and the Preacher's Wives. I have no idea why Ali was sparkle girl. Sometimes you just run with it (pun intended).

I love running with these ladies and can't wait to do it again.

Next state-- Virginia. Next theme: Diva.
